The Optics Upgrade 1 is designed to convert the Altay Track into an optical bench. The Optics Upgrade 1 allows students to confi gure the Altay Track as an optical bench. You will have all you need to study geometric optics, photometry, focal length of lenses, mirrors and much more.

If the converging lens has a focal length such that the system of the converging plus diverging lenses is still converging, it is possible to recover the focal length of the system by using the thin lens equation (valid in the “Gauss approximation”).
